PointScribe is powered by an innovative artificial intelligence (PointScribe Tutor) that automatically advances the skill level of each and every shape based on individual student progress and proficiency.

Lessons begin with large, easy to complete shape sizes. Each time the student writes a shape, Tutor gathers and analyzes handwriting data. When the student’s handwriting proficiency meets the success goals for that shape, PointScribe uses that data to automatically advance her on to the next challenge level (smaller shape size).

The cycle of increasing challenge, followed by the student’s gain in handwriting proficiency with smaller sized shapes, continues until he or she has mastered each and every shape.

The ultimate virtual teacher for handwriting; PointScribe sits with every student for every stroke of every shape. It consistently corrects, guides, and monitors proficiency, increasing the challenge precisely when the student is ready for more.

Challenge Levels

PointScribe presents students with ten levels of challenge in the form of gradually decreasing shape size.
When PointScribe Tutor is enabled, data is captured, analyzed and used by PointScribe to automatically advance the student to the next Challenge Level.
When PointScribe Tutor is not enabled, no data is captured for analysis; no automatic advancement occurs.

Automatic Advancement through the levels is based on two success goals set by the educator.

Accuracy is measured by deviation from center line.
- Goal settings from 40% to 90%
Achievement is the number times a student must attain accuracy goal in order to advance.
- Goal settings from 1 to 10 times

The accuracy and achievement performance data captured by PointScribe Tutor is used for Visual Cue Advancement and Scoring.

PointScribe Tutor also enables Visual Cues to "advance" automatically by systematically removing them as the challenge level increases. For information on Visual Cue Advancement, click here.
