Feature Details: Sequences
Sequences allow you to combine shapes from each of PointScribe's libraries---including User Created---to build custom lessons and design targeted interventions based on captured data.
When running a sequence-based lesson, shapes will appear one at a time in the order you select.

Sequences drive targeted intervention enabling you to deliver lesson content tailored to the learning challenge at hand, for example, a lesson based on curves or on diagonals.

PointScribe's five built-in sequences cannot be deleted or altered, however, can be used as the basis for building your own custom sequences.

Built-in Sequences

  • For your convenience, PointScribe comes ready with five built-in sequences you can use as lesson content immediately:

    • Uppercase Block (A to Z)
    • Lowercase Block (a to z)
    • Block Numbers ( 0 through 9)
    • Diagnostic Shapes (eleven basic pre-writing shapes)
    • Any sequences you have created will also appear in this list

Building a Sequence

  • Select the shape library of your choice, including User Created.

  • Drag and drop shapes into the Sequence boxes.

  • Sequences also aid in learning of names and numbers important to the student and may include shapes from all libraries both built-in and user created.
    • In the example at left, the sequence shows a student's name and phone number. The characters will be presented one at a time, sequentially.

Diagnostic Shape Sequence

  • PointScribe's library of diagnostic shapes allows you to assess students and identify area of strength and weakness within minutes. Eleven shapes that represent the fundamental strokes and directionality of forming letters and numbers are built-in and ready to implement for assessment.

  • If reporting reveals an area needing additional practice, create a customized sequence for targeted intervention that addresses the area needing practice. The example to the left is an intervention targeting curves.
